Courage and Hope for the Future
Hello, and welcome to my online campaign headquarters.
I have chosen to run for Congress, because I have the skills, desire and vision to effectively serve the needs of Wisconsin’s First Congressional District.
A recent poll stated that 4 out of 5 Americans see our country as heading in the wrong direction. Our institutions are failing us; our infrastructure is crumbling; and our precious civil liberties are at stake. We have also grown weary of the politics of fear.
Many of our current leaders lack credibility and the competence to effectively solve our problems. We have come to realize that the terms politician and leader may not necessarily mean the same thing.
In a recent Business Week article real leaders were defined as those who “inspire and enable others to do excellent work and realize their potential.”
Real leaders possess the “ability to build trust, inspire dedicated and engaged followers, and make service to others their number one priority.”
While I have no prior political experience, as a teacher and non-profit executive, I have demonstrated these core leadership qualities at every step of my career.
This current air of pessimism that is circulating in our country does not discourage me. Instead, I am motivated to action. I am compelled to run for Congress, because in spite of all our problems, I truly believe we have the ability to change our present course.
I chose “Courage and Hope for the Future” as my campaign motto. When we exercise courage, we will be able to take ownership of our situation and make decisions that create hope for the future. Hope is more than a wish. Hope is the opposite of despair (and fear). Hope is the eager anticipation of good things to come. With courage and hope we will overcome the politics of fear and put our country back on the right track.
Thank you for visiting my website. I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail.
